Translation
Translation: The word “translation” derives from the Latin word translatio, which comes from trans, “across” + ferre, “to carry” or “to bring” (-latio in turn coming from latus, the past participle of ferre). Thus, translatio is “a carrying across” or “a bringing across”—in this case,
of a text from one language to another. Beyond a simple transfer of meaning from one language to another, translation actually means a pragmatic approach to the target language. This requires not only a good knowledge of the language of the original and the language of the target text, but also a good knowledge of the culture of the language in which the text will be rendered.

Interpreting
Interpreting is the spoken transfer of a message from a source language to a target language. We provide legal interpretation services in German and English to:
- Notarial offices to facilitate the signing of contracts, drafting of wills, signing of powers of attorney, etc.
- Law firms in the context of meetings between lawyers and clients in order to ensure smooth communication.
We also provide interpreting services in the same languages in other cases, such as navigation examinations, civil weddings, etc.
Text editing – Proofreading
Proofreading is the linguistic checking of a text to ensure that it conforms to the grammar, punctuation and spelling rules of the language.
Text editing means intervention on a stylistic and semantic level, so that the result is an even and semantically accurate text.
We provide proofreading and editing services, always respecting the author’s style and without arbitrarily intervening in the text, so that the content of the text is in accordance with the established and institutionally recognized language, while ensuring the smooth flow of the text. We ensure that the relevant terminology has been correctly attributed, while assessing its correctness.
Subtitling
Subtitling is a type of audiovisual translation with its own set of rules and guidelines. This type of translation is about translating spoken dialogue into written text on the screen, always in respect of the image and the sound. It differs from other forms of translation in that translators must fit subtitles into a limited space and time slot, while at the same time fully conveying the meaning and ambience of the language so that it has the same effect on the audience as the audio.
After attending seminars and from our experience in providing subtitling services, we undertake subtitling projects in a variety of fields.
Transcription
Transcription is the process of converting recorded speech (video or audio file) into written text.
A good transcription stands out for the precise conversion of the audio file to text without the words losing their expressiveness and power.
From our experience in transcribing joint press conferences of German and Greek Ministers within the framework of the duties of the Press and Communication Office of the Greek Embassy in Berlin, we undertake the transcription of narratives, all kinds of audio files, speeches, minutes of meetings and interviews.
